Plain-language answers to “who can see this?” — enforced in the database, not just hidden on screen.
Public to everyone
Universities, courses and professors, with their ratings and structure.
Anonymous course experiences — shown with the term and month only.
Nationwide community pages’ descriptions and connected courses.
Your campus
You choose your campus when you join. It isn’t verified — it’s the community you choose to take part in.
Course discussions, resources, study groups, campus events and the campus opportunity board are visible to signed-in students who chose the same campus.
You can change campus up to 3 times in 30 days.
Your profile
Nothing is listed publicly by default. You opt into the campus directory, nationwide discovery and each course’s classmate list separately.
If you post under your name, people who can see that post can open your profile.
Your email is never shown to other students.
Anonymity
Course experiences never store an author with the content. Authorship is kept in a separate, locked store that no page, student or moderator can query.
Anonymous experiences and posts never add to public points and never appear on your profile or activity.
Adding a course or professor while writing an experience isn’t attributed to you either.
In a very small class, classmates might still guess who wrote something — write with that in mind.
Messages
Messages are private to the people in the conversation.
People you follow each other with can message you. Others send one request you can accept, ignore or block — and you choose who can send requests.
In a private conversation started from an anonymous question, you stay anonymous until you choose “Share who I am”.
Blocking stops messages both ways, immediately.
Moderation
Anyone can report content. Moderators can hide posts and restrict accounts — every action is logged.
Moderators never see who wrote anonymous content. They can restrict “the author of this post” without learning who it is.
Reporting a private message shares only that one message with moderators.
Your data
You can edit or delete anything you wrote, and delete your account from Settings.
When you delete your account you can keep your anonymous contributions (permanently unlinked from you) or delete them too.
Job listings come from The Muse and open on their site; we never share your data with employers.
